Custom Painting of your Boat or Yacht

A Gift Certificate makes a special gift for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Father's Day, Mother's Day, or any occasion.

COMMISSION PROCESS: The process starts by discussing your desires for the painting. We can communicate either by telephone, email or in person. The focus of the painting can be the boat or yacht, OR it can be a favorite cruising destination. If you are unsure of the composition, we could discuss it. We will review photos of your boat together, noting what elements to include or remove, such as fenders, flags and people. Next, the size of the framed painting needs to be selected. For the painting, I use fluid acrylics with a focus on watercolor style. My standard sizes are listed below. I would be pleased to do a custom size for you if you need a different size. A painting typically takes 4 weeks for completion. Upon completion of the painting, I will send you a digital photo of the piece for your approval. I will make adjustments to the painting if needed. It is very important to me that you are pleased with the final painting. Each painting is framed in a simple metal frame, matted with a double white mat.

REQUIREMENTS: For the boat portrait, I prefer a good quality digital photo of your boat as you'd like to see it painted. Prints are fine if a digital photo is not available. Along with this photo, a selection of reference or detail photographs, preferably from different angles may be needed, to make sure all the features are clear. If your boat is in my area, I'm more than happy to come out and photograph it for you. If the boat is to be cruising, a photo of your boat underway is critical, since each boat throws a different wake. The desired background for the boat can come either from your own photos or from a collection I have assembled throughout my years of cruising. I will need your contact information for any questions I might have while completing your painting.

PAYMENT PROCESS: A 50% deposit confirms your place in the queue. The balance, including taxes and shipping if applicable, is required prior to delivery. My standard sizes and pricing are listed below.
